Readers were introduced to Amanda Hesser when her articles “Cooking for Mr. Latte,” which combined the story of her courtship with husband-to-be Tad Friend and recipes, first appeared in the New York Times Magazine. As the Times’ food reporter, she wrote, and ate for, over 800 stories; as food editor at the Times Magazine, she compiled her essay collection Eat, Memory. Hesser is the co-founder and CEO of the groundbreaking site, food52.com. Her Essential New York Times Cookbook, which was five years in the making and both a bestseller and winner of a James Beard Award, now resides on the shelves of great cooks everywhere.
