Second Inversion Research Internship

The Second Inversion Research Internship is ideal for students interested in learning about the programming, operational, outreach, and marketing aspects of radio and new media broadcasting on Second Inversion, a 24/7 music channel  focused on art music of the 20th and 21st century and rethinking classical music.  Under the supervision of the KING FM Assistant Program Director, the successful candidate will assist with the creation of content for Second Inversion initiatives designed to emphasize the relevance of new music to our listenership by writing support material for the content curated by constituents, performers, composers, conductors, and champions of new music.  Special projects will be assigned by the Assistant Program Director that will broaden the candidate’s knowledge and experience of radio, new media broadcasting, and the local/global contemporary music scene.
Number of weekly hours:  Part-Time Temporary, 8-12 Hours per week  

Brief Description of Responsibilities
  • Research ensembles & performers to include on Second Inversion (Local, regional, national, international)
  • Assist Music Department with audio Data Entry
  • Blog writing and/or gathering from local writers
  • Assist with Second Inversion’s Social Media platforms on Facebook, Twitter, SoundCloud, Instagram
  • Assist with event calendar updates on
  • Other projects as assigned by the Assistant Program Director
  • Student must have excellent knowledge of classical music, ideally with a strong emphasis in 20th and 21st century art music, classical crossover genres.
  • Student must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Student must have strong skills and involvement in social media.
  • Student must have familiarity with Word and Excel.
  • Student must be familiar with and involved in social media.
  • Student must have strong organizational skills.
  • Strong writing skills required.  A writing sample will be requested.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • High School degree.  Must be currently enrolled in college.
