February 24 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Efe Baltacigil, cello
Samuelsson: “The Eros Effect & Solidarity” from The Love Trilogy (US Premiere)
Elgar: Cello Concerto
Sibelius: Symphony No. 2

Marie Samuelsson’s The Eros Effect and Solidarity highlights the human capacity to respond in solidarity during social movements. Seattle Symphony principal cellist Efe Baltacigil makes his Symphony Tacoma debut in Elgar’s contemplative and elegiac Cello Concerto. The program concludes with Sibelius’s beautiful Symphony No. 2 of 1902, hailed by many as a clarion call to Finland’s independence, but called “a confession of the soul” by the composer himself.

Single tickets go on sale August 15 at www.symphonytacoma.org.
