The recital takes place March 31st at 2:00 PM at the Illsley Ball Nordstrom Recital Hall at Benaroya Hall in Seattle. The program of audience favorites includes music by Beethoven, Saint-Saëns, and Stravinsky. Chen performs on the “Joachim” Stradivarius violin and is the 2009 winner of the Queen Elisabeth Music Competition in Belgium. Chen and Elizalde will be available for a post-concert artist meet & greet. All proceeds from this performance will benefit the Olympic Music Festival’s 2018 summer season

Choir of the Sound joins forces with Thalia Symphony Orchestra for an uplifting exploration of various Psalm settings, featuring Bernstein’s Chichester Psalms and Vaughn Williams’s Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis. Also on the programs are Brahms’ “Wie lieblich sind deine Wohnungen,” Parry’s “I was glad,” and Psalms set by Vivaldi, Schubert, Mendelssohn and Hallock. There will be two performances; Saturday, March 3rd, at 7:30 PM, and on Sunday, March 4th, at 3:00 PM.
