Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra: All Brahms

Two major works by Johannes Brahms ring the rafters of Benaroya Hall in April. First, the 2017 SYSO Concerto Competition winner, Adrian Steele, joins the orchestra for a performance of Brahms’s passionate and virtuosic Violin Concerto in D. Three American works highlight the orchestra’s winter concert. With its lush harmonies and soaring melodies, Howard Hanson’s Symphony No. 2 is one of the most exquisitely expressive works in the American orchestral repertoire.
