Seattle Symphony principal cellist Efe Baltacigil makes his Symphony Tacoma debut in Elgar’s contemplative and elegiac Cello Concerto. Marie Samuelsson’s music is sparse and lush at the same time–and deeply spiritual. Sarah Ioannides conducted the 2016 World Premiere of The Eros Effect and Solidarity in Sweden; now she presents the U.S. Premiere. Beethoven/Cooper: Symphony No. 10 Hadyn: Trumpet Concerto Brahms: Symphony No. 1 Beethoven’s Symphony No. 10 existed only as fragments until reconstructed in 1988 by Barry Cooper. New Principal Trumpet Charles Butler makes his solo debut with Symphony Tacoma in the Haydn Trumpet Concerto.
