Blood, thunder, and drama at Seattle Opera

The opera’s title character is Tosca, and Seattle Opera has two mighty sopranos – Ausrine Stundyte and Mary Elizabeth Williams – lined up to sing the famous role. But here’s betting that the Lithuanian-born Stundyte, the opening-night Tosca, will get some electrifying competition from Greer Grimsley as her nemesis, the villainous police chief Scarpia.
