1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.
All federal, state and local laws and restrictions apply. The Contest is void where prohibited.
2. CONTEST VALID/ENTRIES ACCEPTED:
This contest will begin Friday, November 25, 2011, at 12:01 am PST, and end on Friday, January 6, 2012, at 5:00 pm PST (the “Contest Period”). All Entries must be RECEIVED by January 6, 2012, at 5:00 pm PST. Only entries with all mandatory information are eligible, including the parent/guardian signature line giving express permission for the child to enter the contest, submit personal information, and granting Classical KING FM 98.1 the right to use the winning penguin name on the air and in marketing materials. No entry form will be accepted without the parent or guardian signature.
3. WHO CAN ENTER:
Contest is open to anyone who legally resides in the state of Washington and is 12 years of age or younger as of January 6, 2012.
4. Employees of Classical 98.1, Beethoven, a nonprofit corporation, Market Enginuity, the Seattle Symphony Orchestra, their dependents and immediate family members are not eligible to participate or win.
HOW TO ENTER:
5. 5. Contestants enter to win by submitting their proposed penguin name and personal information using an official entry form. The forms can be accessed in two ways: (i) downloaded and printed from www.king.org, or (ii) picked up in person from the KING-sponsored Instrument Petting Zoos in the lobby of McCaw Hall during the matinee performances of Pacific Northwest Ballet’s Nutcracker, November 25 and 26, and December 3, 4, and 10, 2011. Only hard copies of entry forms will be accepted, and all entry forms are to be mailed or hand-delivered to the following address:

6. Entry forms must be received by Classical 98.1 by Friday, January 6, 2012, at 5:00 pm PST.
7. Only one entry per child, but multiple entrants from the same household are permitted (for example, a brother and sister can each enter the contest). Classical 98.1 reserves the right to disqualify individual entrants who submit more than one entry form.
8. An entry form is considered complete if all required information is present and accurate, including the required parent or guardian signature consenting to the child entering the contest, submitting his or her personal information, and granting permission to Classical 98.1 to use the winning penguin name on the air and in marketing materials.
9. Any suggested name for the penguin that infringes existing copyrights or trademarks held by another company, corporation, or institution will be disqualified. Please encourage your children to come up with names that do not mimic character names from movies, television shows, games, etc.
10. As a policy, all entry forms and personal information provided by or about children under the age of thirteen (13) will be used solely for the purposes of the contest and will be destroyed immediately after the contest conclusion in accordance with the requirements of the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Personal information about the child who wins the grand prize will be destroyed, except the contact information of the parent or guardian of the grand prize winner will be retained for record-keeping purposes.
11. By entering this Contest, Entrants agree to indemnify, defend and hold Classical 98.1 harmless from and against any claims, expenses proceedings, suits, actions or costs (including costs from reasonable attorneys’ fees) of any kind or nature incurred by Classical 98.1 on account of a breach by Entrant of any of their representations, warranties, covenants or agreements as a result of Entrant’s participation in the Contest.
12. Prizes must be accepted as awarded and are not redeemable for credit, are non-transferable, non-exchangeable and are non-endorsable. In the event a substitution for a prize may become necessary due to unavailability or circumstances beyond Classical 98.1’s control, a reasonable prize will be substituted at sole discretion of Classical 98.1 and any/all contest sponsors. Classical 98.1 is not responsible for replacing tickets from cancelled shows/events associated with this prize.
JUDGING:
13. The entries will be reviewed and judged by a panel of three Classical 98.1 staff members the week of January 9, 2012.
14. Entries will be judged based on creativity, originality, and connection with the Classical KING FM 98.1 Exploring Music program. Information about Exploring Music can be found at www.king.org/explore.
15. The judges’ decision is final.
16. Winner will be notified on or around January 12, 2012, by phone and/or e-mail.
PRIZES:
17. The grand prize winner will receive four tickets to the The Gilman Family Discover Music Family Concert by the Seattle Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, January 28, 2012, in Benaroya Hall in Seattle, Washington. The tickets will be available for pick-up at the will call window at Benaroya Hall before the concert..
18. The grand prize winner’s suggested name for the penguin mascot will be used to identify the children’s programming initiative on the air and for marketing purposes.
19. Prize will be released to the parent or legal guardian of the winner. Classical 98.1 reserves the right to examine identification and may reasonably choose to accept or deny awarding the Prize based on the information presented. All participants in winning Entry are required to sign a Release relieving the Classical 98.1, its affiliates, subsidiaries, officers, directors, members, managers, employees, agents and Contest sponsors from any and all liability with respect to the contestant’s participation in the Contest and the receipt and/or use of the Prize. Any person who refuses to sign the release will forfeit the Prize. The winner will be responsible for complying with all tax regulations regarding this award.
20. The number of eligible entries received during the entry period determines the odds of winning a prize.

22. If a Prize is forfeited under these rules, then it will remain the property of the Classical 98.1, disposed of within Classical 98.1’s sole discretion.
OTHER RULES:
23. Classical 98.1, Beethoven, a nonprofit corporation, the Seattle Symphony Orchestra, and all current related sponsors, are not responsible for failed, incomplete or delayed entries or for problems with computer, printer, online, telephone, cellular phone or internet communications or damage to user’s system as a result of participating in the contest. Illegible/incomplete entries will be disqualified. All entries become property of Classical 98.1 and will not be returned. False or deceptive entries or acts will render entrants ineligible. Classical 98.1 reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend Contest.
24. By participating in the Contest, each Entrant hereby agrees that Classical 98.1 has no responsibility or liability in connection with any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by or resulting from the acceptance, possession and/or use of a Prize or an Entrant’s participation in the Contest.
25. Entries received by Classical 98.1 that are mutilated, tampered with, illegible, from ineligible Entrants, or damaged in any way as determined by Station in its sole discretion will be void. Classical 98.1 is not responsible for lost, late, or misdirected mail. Entries that are determined by Classical 98.1 to be fraudulent will be void and the person making such an entry barred from further participation in the Contest.
26. Classical 98.1 reserves the right to terminate or declare this Contest null and void and rescind any Contest awards if in its sole judgment, the rules or the integrity of this Contest have been violated or compromised in any way, intentionally or unintentionally by any person whether or not a participant in this Contest. Classical 98.1 personnel shall be the sole judges of the Contest and in interpreting these rules, their decisions shall be final.
27. Classical 98.1 reserves the right to alter or amend Contest rules or to stop the Contest at any time. Material changes to the Contest rules will be broadcast on-air, when practical.
28. Entry into this Contest constitutes agreement by contestants to abide by these and any other rules set forth by the Station.
29. A complete copy of the rules are available during the Contest Period at the station studios (10 Harrison St, Suite 100, Seattle, WA) between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm and at www.king.org.
30. Any listener requesting contest rules must send a self-addressed envelope with a request for contest rules to: “Name our Penguin” Contest Rules, Classical KING FM 98.1, 10 Harrison St Suite 100, Seattle, WA 98109 by April 1, 2011.

KING FM Young Artist Awards
2011-2012
THE CONTEST:
1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. All federal, state and local laws and restrictions apply. The Contest is void where prohibited.
2. CONTEST VALID/ENTRIES ACCEPTED: This contest will begin 10:00 am PST, Tuesday, January 3, 2012, and end at 5:00 pm PST, Friday, March 5, 2012 (the “Contest Period”), during which time video submissions will be accepted. All Entries must be RECEIVED no later than March 5, 2011, at 5:00 pm PST. Only entries submitted via www.king.org and including all mandatory information on entry documents are eligible.
3. WHO CAN ENTER: Contest is open to anyone who legally resides in the state of Washington and is between the ages of 8 and 20 as of March 5, 2012. Professional musicians, any person who is party to, or has ever been party to a professional recording contract, are all ineligible to enter and/or win. Classical 98.1 will require proof of residency, age, and identification prior to delivering any prize.
4. All contestants under the age of 18 chosen as a top 10 finalist will be required to have their parents or legal guardians consent allowing them to participate as a finalist. Parents or legal guardians will be notified that their child is a finalist and will be asked to give consent on or near March 22, 2012. Parental/guardian consent must be granted no later than 11:59 am PST, Friday, March 30, 2012. Failure to do so in a timely manner will result in automatic disqualification.
5. Employees of Classical 98.1, Beethoven, a non-profit corporation, Market Enginuity, their dependents and immediate families, as well as employees of contest sponsors and employees of other radio stations, are not eligible to participate or win.
6. Solo entrants may be accompanied by one musician but the soloist will be considered the winner of the Contest.
HOW TO ENTER:
7. Go on-line to www.king.org. Eligible persons wishing to enter the Contest (each, an “Entrant”) must submit one (1) URL to a video recording of themselves performing up to 5 minutes in length. The video must be uploaded to YouTube and set the privacy set to “unlisted” (which means the video can only be accessed through the URL and is not open to the public). The Entrant should state his or her name and introduce the piece at start of video, which may be edited into the video.
8. Performance must be acoustic, continuous, and not edited or enhanced in any way except for the edited introduction.
9. By entering this Contest, Entrants understand and agree that they will be invited to perform live in the KING FM studios on either April 13 or 20, 2012, if selected as a finalist. The grand prize winner will be invited to play live on KING FM on May 4, 2012. All top ten winners will have the opportunity to be featured as guest performers at a maximum of four KING FM events from May 2012 through April 2013.
10. All entrants must represent, warrant, and covenant that they have obtained permission from accompanist (or from a parent or legal guardian if the accompanist is under 13 years of age), consenting to submission of the Entry, participation in the Contest, and agreement to the terms of these official Contest rules.
11. By entering this Contest, Entrants represent, warrant and covenant that (i) the content of Entry will not violate or infringe any rights of third parties; and (ii) Entrants have the right and authority to grant Classical 98.1 rights to the content provided in the Entry.
12. By entering this Contest, Entrants agree to indemnify, defend and hold Classical 98.1 harmless from and against any claims, expenses proceedings, suits, actions or costs (including costs from reasonable attorneys’ fees) of any kind or nature incurred by Classical 98.1 on account of a breach by Entrant of any of their representations, warranties, covenants or agreements as a result of Entrant’s participation in the Contest.

JUDGING:
14. On or about March 7, 2012, all eligible entries received will be reviewed by a two-person sub-panel consisting of KING FM’s Assistant Music Director and the Education Director of the Seattle Chamber Music Society. The sub-panel will select 50 entries to be designated semi-finalists and sent to the final judging panel for assessment.
15. The judging panel will consist of two representatives from KING FM and seven representatives from the arts community, creating a final judging panel of nine judges.
16. The judging panel will then determine ten finalists from the pool of 50 semi-finalists, based on skill, presentation, and creativity. All decisions of the judging panel will be at the sole discretion of Classical 98.1 and their decisions shall be final and non-appealable.
17. The videos of the 10 finalists will be posted on www.king.org to be voted on by the public beginning March 30, 2012, at 1:00 pm PST. Online voting will end on April 27, 2012, at 5:00 pm PST.
18. The Grand Prize winner will be the finalist with the highest combined score from the judging panel and listener votes. All listener votes represent one vote, with each of the nine judges having a vote (for a total of ten votes total). The contestants with the next nine highest scores will be the runner-ups. In the event of a tie, the judging panel will determine the winner. The winner will be announced on or about April 30, 2012. Reasonable efforts will be made to notify winner by phone and/or email.
19. Only one vote per IP address per day.
20. Classical 98.1 must obtain written permission from the parents or guardians of all finalists under the age of 18 granting KING FM the right to broadcast their children’s musical performances, speaking voices, names, and likenesses over the air, through streaming media players, and on the KING.ORG website.
PRIZES/HONORS:
21. The ten finalists will be invited to perform live on KING FM 98.1 and streaming at KING.ORG on either April 13 or April 20, 2012. The grand-prize winner will be invited to perform live on KING FM 98.1 and streaming on-line at KING.ORG on May 4, 2012. The pieces played are to be mutually agreed upon by KING FM.
22. All top ten winners will have the opportunity to be featured as guest performers at a maximum of four KING FM events from May 2012 through April 2013 – dates, times, and locations to be determined.
23. In the event a substitution for a prize may become necessary due to unavailability or circumstances beyond Classical 98.1’s control, a reasonable prize will be substituted at sole discretion of Classical 98.1 and any/all contest sponsors. Classical 98.1 is not responsible for replacing tickets from cancelled shows/events associated with this prize.
24. The Seattle Chamber Music Society reserves the right to present a special commendation to the top chamber ensemble, to be determined by The Panel. The winning ensemble may be invited to play at an upcoming Seattle Chamber Music Society event. Selection as the top chamber ensemble does not preclude the ensemble from also winning the grand prize.
OTHER RULES:
25. Classical 98.1, Beethoven, a non-profit corporation, and all current related sponsors are not responsible for failed, incomplete or delayed transmission or Internet entries or for problems with computer, online, telephone, cellular phone or Internet communications or damage to user’s system as a result of participating in the contest. Station reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend Contest.
26. All personal information about contestants under the age of 13 who are not selected as finalists will be destroyed at the conclusion of the contest. Personal information about the finalists under the age of 13 will only be retained for Classical 98.1’s record-keeping purposes and to retain contact with the parent or guardian.
27. By participating in the Contest, each Entrant and each associated participant hereby agrees that Classical 98.1 has no responsibility or liability in connection with any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by or resulting from the acceptance and/or use of a Prize or an Entrant’s and each associated participant’s participation in the Contest.
28. Entries received by Classical 98.1 that are mutilated, tampered with, illegible, from ineligible Entrants, or damaged in any way as determined by Station in its sole discretion will be void. Classical 98.1 is not responsible for lost, late, or misdirected e-mail. Entries that are determined by Classical 98.1 to be fraudulent will be void and the person making such an entry barred from further participation in the Contest.
29. ENTRY:
To enter our contests, log onto http://www.king.org. All entries must be received during that period to be eligible to win a prize. Only one complete entry per person per household sharing the same email address within a twenty-four hour period is eligible. KING FM and king.org are not responsible for failure to receive entries due to transmission failures and/or other conditions beyond its reasonable control.
ELIGIBILITY:
You must be eighteen or over to enter and win, and a legal resident currently living in western Washington. Employees and their immediate families of Classic Radio, its parent, affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies, the sponsors and prize donors (collectively, "Sponsors and Administrators") are not eligible. Only one prize per household, email or street address will be awarded. You may win only one contest every 60 days on KING FM and/or KING.org.By entering, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules, and agree to release the Sponsors and Administrators from any and all liability for injuries, losses or damages of any kind resulting from participation in this drawing.
GENERAL CONDITIONS:

KING FM and king.org, Sponsors and Administrators are not responsible for technical, network, electronic, computer, hardware or software failures of any kind, including any injury or damage to entrant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participating in or downloading any materials in the on-line giveaway. WINNER SELECTION:
The prizewinners will be selected through a random drawings of all eligible entries. All drawings will be conducted and judged by KING FM, whose decisions and interpretations of these Official Rules shall apply and be final.
Winners will be notified by email and/or telephone. If winners do not respond within two (2) business days of contact, KING FM reserves the right to randomly select an alternate winner from the names of all entries that did not win a prize. In order to receive a prize, winners may be required to sign an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release, and any additional information, waivers and releases that may be required. Winners will have ten (10) days to execute and return the Affidavit of Eligibility and/or Liability/Publicity Release, releasing KING FM and king.org, Sponsors and Administrators from any claims, losses, injuries or damages of any kind resulting from participation in the Sweepstakes or the use or receipt of any prizes. Failure to comply with the foregoing, or the return of any prize as undeliverable, may cause the winner to forfeit their prize and KING FM and king.org reserve the right to select an alternate winner.
Except where prohibited by law or regulation, winner's acceptance of prize will constitute permission for KING FM and king.org, its affiliated companies, sponsors or prize donors to use winner's name, likeness, and statements for any purpose in reference to the Club Ludwig on-line giveaways without additional compensation, consideration or consent.
PRIZES:
Number of winners selected depends on number of prizes received for each giveaway. The number of eligible entries received during the entry period determines the odds of winning a prize. KING FM reserves the right to change or replace the prize at any time with a prize of equal or greater value. The prize is not transferable, assignable nor redeemable for cash. All Federal, State and Local laws and regulations apply. Winners will be responsible for all Federal, State or other applicable taxes in connection with the receipt of prizes.
