Classical KING FM is Listener-Supported
“Every great community needs a classical radio station. Tuning in to KING FM every morning is already as vital to me as that first cup of coffee. It's a priceless resource for everybody in Seattle who loves symphonic music, and a great way to get to know your world-renowned Seattle Symphony. Now that KING FM is listener-supported it's important for us all to support this vital voice for the arts on the radio and the internet." Photo By: Sussie Ahlburg

More of the Music You Love
The listener-supported model creates more time for great classical music. KING FM will be able to offer you more in-depth programming of a broader collection of pieces, genres, and composers. We are expanding our opera, choral, chamber music, and broadcast concerts from around the world.
More Access
No matter where you are in the world, you can access our music through your computer, iPhone, or Android mobile device. Our website and Mobile apps include 98.1 KING FM Online, the Evergreen Channel, Symphonic Favorites, Seattle Opera Channel, as well as our Arts Channel On-Demand which features interviews with local arts personalities from theatre, visual arts, literary arts, dance and music. For those with HD radios, you can also enjoy our programming at 98.1: KING FM Online (HD1), the Evergreen Channel (HD2) and Symphonic Favorites (HD3).
KING FM will continue to be a pioneer in using new technology to give you more access to the music you love.
More Live Broadcasts
You will hear more local concert broadcasts, increasing from 43 to over 60 per year, including groups such as the Seattle Chamber Music Society, Seattle Symphony, and Seattle Pro Musica. We will also add a live element to our NW Focus programming. NW Focus LIVE will present live broadcasts from our studios featuring music and interviews with prominent Northwest performers.
The Saturday evening opera broadcasts will expand to 52 weeks a year, adding to our Met Opera and Seattle Opera live broadcasts, on-air and through our on-line KING FM Seattle Opera Channel.
If you miss a live performance, you will be able to enjoy concerts through our upcoming on-line concert archive, featuring exclusive local concerts of the best classical ensembles in the Northwest.
More Community Partnerships in the Arts
KING FM is committed to supporting other music and arts organizations across the region.
For arts groups, this means we will continue our NW Focus programming, where we feature concerts by Northwest performers including the Pacific Northwest Ballet, Baroque Northwest, Tacoma Symphony, UW World Series, and many more. In addition, we will feature more recordings by local groups throughout our programming day. Without a stable local classical station, KING FM, there would be no place for these talented groups to get airplay in our community.
More Support for Arts Education
KING FM will expand its mission to support arts education - a critical mission that is receiving less funding in scholls today. All the region's arts groups will benefit from increased exposure and the ability to extend educational opportunities through KING FM's multiple channels to the public.
In support of arts education, we currently broadcast From the Top, a syndicated "kids and classical music" program. We will expand our live and recorded broadcasts of youth groups like the Seattle Youth Symphony, Cascade Youth Symphony, and Seattle Boychoir.
KING FM is committed to working with the arts community to foster future generations of musicians and audiences.
