Art from Ashes: International Holocaust Remembrance Day Concert

Music of Remembrance (MOR) presents a community-wide free concert to honor International Holocaust Remembrance Day and the 73rd anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi death camp. The program features chamber music written in Terezín and the Vilna ghetto, and works by composers whose lives were cut short by Nazi persecution including Hans Krása, László Weiner and Viktor Ullmann. Byron Schenkman and Friends: Vivaldi and the High Baroque

The season closes with a festive evening of virtuoso sonatas and concertos for baroque winds, strings, and harpsichord. Works by Vivaldi include his “Goldfinch” Concerto and sonatas for flute, oboe, and violin. Also included are works by Joseph Bodin de Boismortier, Anna Bon, and George Frideric Handel.
