A night of beauty and peace with a fusion of musical styles from around the world, featuring artists; Andre Feriante, Rafe Pearlman, Troy Chapman, Anil Prasad, Steve Thoreson, and Deseo Carmin.
In a year when, more than ever, everyone could use some common ground, peace, refuge, and love, Maestro of Strings Andre Feriante delivers once again. His 23rd Annual Day of Love concert, “In the House of Beauty”, will be held on Saturday, February 10th at 8:00pm in Benaroya Hall’s Nordstrom Recital Hall as a lead up to Valentine’s Day.
With training by the great Andrés Segovia, and with almost 40 years of performing and recording, Feriante has left his musical mark on the classical, world music, and fusion scenes. In a world of many masterful musicians, what sets Andre Feriante apart is his mix of elegance and approachability; both in the music he writes and in his performance style. Andre brings a casual warmth to the stage as he invites his audience into a musical conversation where everyone feels as if they are a part of the performance. More than a concert, Andre Feriante provides an experience.
The past year has been one of division and dispute among communities, friends and families. Everyday there seems to be new hate and anger in the news. As an antidote to that ugliness, Feriante invites us into “The House of Beauty”. This evening of beautiful, exotic music from around the world will explore themes of love, unity and peace. Andre Feriante has recently expanded his work to healing forms of music and this concert, with it’s handpicked artists, seeks to share that healing and joy with their guests at Benaroya Hall.
For 2018, Andre Feriante’s Day of Love experience presents a cooperative cross section of music from around the globe. World Music Vocalist Rafe Pearlman brings a fusion of the modern and ancient with songs and chants from a variety of belief traditions, while Gypsy Jazz Guitarist Troy Chapman presents the stylings of musicians like Belgian-born Romani French jazz guitarist Jango Rhineheart blended with American Jazz. Master Tabla Player Anil Prasad offers traditional Indian rhythms with western percussion as Deseo Carmin presents a visual and emotional representation to the music of her fellow artists through Modern Flamenco Dance. Coming from a world tour of the Cathedrals, Piazzas, and Concert Halls of twenty seven countries, World Class Tenor Vocalist Steve Thoreson lends his Operatic expertise to join this extraordinary collection of musicians on stage with Maestro Feriante.
“In the House of Beauty” is open to the public and tickets are now available from Benaroya Hall for $41.50. The concert will be held on February 10th, 2018 at Benaroya Hall in the Nordstrom Recital Hall, 200 University St, Seattle WA. The music begins at 8:00pm.
