Every Time I Feel the Spirit: 200 Years of Music by Black Composers

Join Pacific MusicWorks for an in-depth exploration of the many contributions of Black musicians to American music, from colonial times through the birth of 19th century popular song, the music of the Civil War, and the rise of Spirituals and Gospel music. Trace African, European, and American musical threads as they intertwined to create a distinctly American musical heritage. Internationally acclaimed countertenor Reginald L. Mobley joins an ensemble of period banjo, guitar, strings, and piano led by Stephen Stubbs for this unique and unforgettable program.
