So you want to be a guest on KING FM’s programs? Great! Here’s what you need to know.
Northwest Focus LIVE
Northwest Focus LIVE is – as the name suggests – a live show. This means that a lot of planning and logistics go into making each episode happen. Because of that, we schedule episodes about 6 months in advance of the broadcast date. To be considered for a NWFL performance, please contact us 9 months prior to the broadcast date you have in mind.
Other important information to know about being a guest on NWFL:
- On the broadcast date, you must be available from 7pm-9pm, unless your episode will be videotaped.
- Only a handful of episodes are videotaped (you’ll be notified via email if your episode is selected for videotaping). If your show is one of them, you may need to be at the studio until midnight or later on your broadcast date.
- You will need to prepare 40 minutes of music for your episode.
To be considered for this program, please contact Dacia Clay, KING FM Assistant Program Director, at email@example.com.
Musical Chairs guests are scheduled about 4-6 months in advance the their broadcast dates. To be considered as a Musical Chairs guest, please contact us 6 months prior to the broadcast date you have in mind. Interviews are taped about 3 weeks in advance of the broadcast date.
Additionally, each guest is asked to create a playlist of 4-6 pieces for a total of 42-45 minutes of music, to be discussed during the episode. To be considered for this program, please contact Dacia Clay, KING FM Assistant Program Director, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our Broadcast Concert schedule is created each spring. If you want to make KING aware of your season, contact us with that timeline in mind. Generally speaking, only organizations whose calendars are posted before June are considered for the following year’s Broadcast Concert schedule. To be considered for this program, please contact Dacia Clay, KING FM Assistant Program Director, at email@example.com.
To be considered for Northwest Focus:
(Step 1) In lieu of a press release, submit your event or season to the Live Music Project calendar.
(Step 2) Once your event(s) are published on the Live Music Project, simply send the event link(s) to KING FM Music Director Aaron Stoess (firstname.lastname@example.org) at least two weeks prior to the event.
